Ways to help PhDs and Post Docs to stay in touch between the meetings - forums and seminars?

The EDENext Steering Committee has been discussing ways to help PhD students and Post Docs to stay in touch between the annual meetings. It has made two suggestions so far.

The first is to set up a moderated website forum for discussions between yourselves and  to provide a route to ask senior project staff for advice or input on aspects of your work  or on more general topics of interest. The second is to hold a series of Web seminars - perhaps three or four during the year - with speakers drawn from either senior EDENext project members or the Phd and Post Doc Community.

We would like

a) to know whether you think  these would be useful, popular, or helpful, and if so

b) to ask each of you to suggest two or three topics for the proposed seminars.

If you have any suggestions for other ways of helping you to stay in touch we would be very interested to hear them at edenextdata@gmail.com
